While many traditional colleges are struggling to attract students in a stagnant economy, most online colleges are experiencing significant enrollment growth. In fact, one online college has now become the largest private university in the United States.
Does that come as a suprise to you? It probably doesn't if you remember that online college programs are generally far less expensive than their on-campus counterparts. And, they are far more flexible and convenient. But, despite their advantages, online colleges are not the best option for everyone.
So, don't jump thoughtlessly into an online degreeprogram. First, ask yourself five important questions.
1. Will an online degree help you achieve the career and/or financial goals you have set for yourself?
2. Can you spare a minimum of six hours a week to further your education?
3. Are you willing to make the necessary financial commitment to further education? Financial aid is available, including loans. So are tuition installment plans. But, there is some expense.
4. Do you have the discipline and motivation required to successfully complete an online degree?
5. Do you have a computer and suitable study area?
If you answered "yes" to all five questions, you're ready to move ahead with an online degree program. Investigate at least 4-5 fully accredited online colleges, choose the one best meeting your needs, and begin your journey to a brighter future.
