Christopher Paolina, author of the Eragon book series has secured many loyal followers with his wonderful stories. Eloquent writing, combined with a lengthy, well-developed story line makes it a trilogy that will stand out as one of the best of our times. Of course, it doesn't hurt their popularity that the books have been adapted and made into movies now, so they're getting more attention than ever.

In the first tome, Eragon, a common young man named Eragon learns he is destined to become a dragon rider and live a heroic life. He develops a strong connection to his dragon and together they are able to free the Empire from evil.

Brisingr: This third book in the series continues the show in spectacular style. Eragon and Saphire narrowly escape the last battle with their lives and must fight off dwarves again. He finally gains the magical sword he needs after more training, and then sets off to fight the king.
