I've lost count of how many Beatles books I've read, but I know I've read a lot more than the ones I'm listing below. These are the books on The Beatles that most stand out in my memory and that I most strongly recommend reading.
The Beatles Anthology - This "coffee table book" is an essential part of every Beatles fans library. It's loaded with great first hand accounts of The Beatles history (told by John, Paul, George, & Ringo themselves) and a lot of awesome pictures.
The Beatles Complete Scores - If you're a musician who wants to play The Beatles music on your piano, guitar, bass guitar, or on the drums then this book is what you're looking for. It includes the complete scores (hence the name) for every Beatles song released in the '60s (that means that there are no Anthology songs included.)
Many Years From Now - Too often the focus on The Beatles is on John Lennon. While I love Lennon as much as anyone else, I think McCartney's perspective is far too often overlooked. This book is The Beatles story as told by Paul.
Revolution In The Head - A great resource on The Beatles songs. I often disagree with the author's opinions, but that seems to actually make the book even more interesting. It includes a write-up on every song The Beatles have officially released (including the songs on The Anthology CDs!)
The Beatles As Musicians - This two book series is definitely the most detailed analysis of The Beatles songs that is available anywhere. But I should warn you: This book is only for those who are interested in music theory.
Lennon Revealed - There are a boatload of books about John Lennon's life and I've read quite a few of them. But the only one I can actually remember is Lennon Revealed. I think it's because it was the one that most made John seem like a real person rather than some mythological creation.
Here, There, & Everywhere: My Life Recording The Beatles - This is possibly the most revealing book about The Beatles actual recording sessions I've ever read. I never felt more like I was actually in the studio with the band than I did when reading this book. Fascinating.
