Technology has helped the nursing field a lot. It made the nurse's job easier. It also paved the way for them to have more accurate observations and data about a patient.

With the shortage expected to increase if the problems are not addressed, then there will definitely be a lot more jobs available for nursing graduates. Whatever career you would want to pursue, you will definitely have a vacancy available for you.

Such an analysis and prediction is backed by very strong reasoning and findings. Advancement in technology and medical field has resulted in an increased life span. Elderly population is now living longer and more of them will require care and nursing. With more elderly people in need of such care, demands rise for nursing force that can meet such needs.

In many instances, many nursing specialties require the ability assist the doctor in educating patients on what to do when it comes to their health and properly advise them on the best course of action related to their current health situation.

If you are not an experienced nurse then you may want to get that under your belt. Some hospitals want you to contract with them, but if you have any desire to relocate then you may want to pass that up and continue to train for that much needed experience.

Neuroscience Nurses care for patients with nervous system dysfunctions, including brain and spinal cord injuries, seizures, alterations in cognition, communication, sexuality, etc. Respiratory Nurses provide preventive, acute or critical and rehabilitative support to patients with respiratory ailments like asthma, tuberculosis, etc. Orthopedic Nurses provide care to patients with muscular and skeletal problems, like arthritis, bone fractures, muscular dystrophy, etc. Certified by "Orthopedic Nursing Certification Board", employer's specialty is hospitals and HMOs.

Now consider your worst encounter with a nurse. She was probably abrasive and indifferent. Maybe she was sarcastic. She may have made you feel as if you were a burden. She could have technically done everything right but you just feel awful after seeing her.

If you don't have the desire, stomach or patience for doing such service - oriented tasks, you should stay clear of pursuing a nursing degree because it's not a profession that suits you. Nursing is a lucrative profession, but it entails a lot of responsibilities. If you are not up to what the nursing profession calls for, you do not deserve to be in the nursing profession.
