Let's Go Green

By Anne Yau

Recently there are many articles about the idea of 'going green'. I remember one day I read an article about the concept of going green, that means, be more environmentally friendly, only by doing this can we save Mother Earth.

The main theme of the article is that starting from now on, it is the time for we human being to stop polluting the world and starts to protect it adn to go green. It encourages us to make some celebrities who are green supporters our role model. For example it mentioned that President Obama now chooses to use low energy consuming car, 'hybrid car'.

I am not that rich to buy a hybrid car, but anyway I am not a driver. But I am thinking of what I can do to give a helping hand to Mother Earth and be green. A few weeks ago there was a global program urging skyscrapers and shops to turn off their lights for 1 hour to arouse the attention of the globe towards energy-saving. That was a great program, so why not continue it?

Of course, using less plastic bags can help a lot. There is no valid reason for you to take plastic bags if you just buy a little pack of chewing gums from the store, right? Try to be green and reuse plastic bags until it goes dirty or is damaged.

There are many important things and matters that we would like to mark down every day. We use up loads of papers EVERY DAY! So whenever we use a sheet of paper, please think and try to use both sides of it. When doing wrappings for gifts, also use less wrapping papers. Be green! These save the world, and save your purse!

Many companies in the past like to post greeting cards to their customers during greeting seasons. Now most of them choose to use e-cards. When we want to send greetings to our friends or clients, why not use e-cards? It's greener.

So why not try to send E-cards which are as sweet as paper cards! This is very sweet to send love messages and for companies, it is an effective and green way for promotion! Some websites help you out by letting you draw your own cards!

If you don't want your grandsons and granddaughters to live in a highly-polluted world, from now on, please be greener. Use everything wisely. All in all, the World is ours. Please love it and protect it.
