Why You Should Have Regular Maths Revision

By Luke Redding

I believe that I am not the only one in this world who can say that I have problems solving maths equations. Many will say that they have this problem simply because maths is a hard subject. I do not think that this really is the case. The problem is not that math is hard. The problem is that we do not get enough practice. We do not do maths revision.

Now I do not think that you do not know what maths revision is but I will explain just in case I am mistaken. Revision simply means to go and study over again. Maths revision will therefore be going and studying over again the things in maths that you have already been taught. If you had just learnt addition then in your maths revision you will be doing many additional sums until you get the hung of it.

The importance of maths revision is to sharpen our skills for the future. We have all seen that maths is what makes this world go round so to speak. If we do not want to fall behind in the day to day activities of this society we will have to be sharp at maths. It is like the easiest stepping stone in making it in this world where everything is ruled by all these calculated steps that we must take.

Why is so much maths revision a part of being a good mathematician? Well, maths is not like any other subject that you can think of. Once you are taught the meaning of an English word and its context you do not have to revise it constantly. With maths every new principle on the other hand has to be re-done and re-done until it becomes one with your brain.

We have all noticed that the more we do something we not only become better at doing it but we become better at doing it faster too. There is another plus to doing your maths revision. You will be flying over equations as if reading a children's novel. Speed has become so important to us that it is no longer just a matter of getting it done. Things have to be done yes but they have to be done quicker and quicker.

As has been over the many years passed and continues to be now, maths revision is better if not done alone. This is because what I know is probably not what you know. If we revise our maths problems together we will both be able to benefit from each other.

The internet is fully loaded with tools you can use to make sound maths revision. Some will even be in the form of new techniques like maybe having the maths incorporated into an exciting game. With new technology comes new methods of doing things and this can be put into maths revision too. What method you will choose will all be up to your individuality.

In conclusion it is very important for us to do our maths revision if we want to be good at it. As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect. This is the same exact case as with maths revision.
